You mean just like I can get with Infosys or any of the boutique software dev consultants?

Now, even if a client decided to leave Infosys and hire a premium developer - it is hard and costly.

To give you an example (in software): a company like Infosys would send you average or below average consultants who are good at communicating in English.

Unless you went into bodyshop companies like TCS, Infosys etc.

And then Infosys would charge you higher than the premium developers located in the US, while paying the worker just about average (or even minimum pay by market standards).

I see no sanctions to Infosys or Tata for selling people with say, Junior Engineer skill as Seniors, but what I see lots of hate towards the H1-B workers.

If these companies are breaking the law so badly (and they probably are, the top 7 or so companies using H1B are Infosys and other outsourcing firms) -- why don't employees go ahead and sue them?

There is a lot of indian body shops doing consulting (infosys,...) that are super shady, but if you work at a 'regular' US company, you should be fine from what I've seen.

They all do the same thing and Cognizant gets nearly as many H-1Bs as Infosys and TCS: >Hira points out that over the last four years, Cognizant has received about 23,000 new H-1B workers with visas valid for up to 6 years, and has a number of workers on L-1s.

Just look at the well known public companies in India (Reliance, Infosys, Wipro and many others).

The Labor Department said last week that it had opened an investigation into two outsourcing companies, Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys...

So it's really quite easy to meet that, even for Infosys.
