Isn't that the point of an impressionist filter; to just give you an impression of what was there before?

The Menzel has obvious impressionist features, especially in the background and the smoke around the ceiling.

For the most part, those who only listen to music often prefer Romantic and Impressionist styles.

I didn't mean this kid's paintings don't have a market outside of art fairs, I meant that is where this sort of impressionist painting is usually found when produced by someone else.

The problem is that as an outsider it really looks like someone is trying to herd a bunch of monkeys into writing Shakespeare, or trying to advance impressionist art by pretending a baby's first crayon scratches are equivalent to a Pollock.

Filters for "Van Gogh" or "Impressionist" or "watercolor" have existed for decades now; are they ripping of previous work without paying for it?

My mother has painted Impressionist-style oil paintings my whole life, and taught painting classes.

It is interesting that the only counter-examples I could find were either done by a post-Impressionist in an asylum, or as an explicit invocation of the supernatural.
