God-zilla is using the concept of God as a superlative modifier. I would expect a neuron involved in the concept of godhood to activate whenever any metaphorical "god-of-X" concept is being used.

It's pretty clear that "zilla" is a genericised word suffix, cf "bridezilla", in English. Whilst it seems to originate with Godzilla -- which honestly also doesn't seem to associate with a particular company but instead I would say it's a now traditional monster name in stories, like Dracula -- noone is confusing this with any Godzilla franchise.

I wonder if Mozilla could argue that Filezilla is infringing on their trademark and damaging their reputation because of this. I mean, it's an open-source client for a common internet protocol that ends in "zilla". It would be easy for users to assume that Filezilla is affiliated with Mozilla. And up until the move to Sourceforge's adware downloader system, that would have been fine for everybody - they're both good products. But now? Now filezilla is riding on mozilla's coattails with the confusion and profiting from it, to the detriment of mozilla's reputation.

Uh, yeah, that's why it's called "Mozilla" with a "Zilla" and the end...

The copyright owners of Godzilla are known to go after everyone who tries to use the "Zilla" suffix. Mozilla learned its lesson long ago and had to negotiate a special agreement.

Io/ Mozilla has a custom font for their branding called Zilla Slab, but I believe that's only serif.
