Saltiness in a sentence as a noun

The saltiness in comment threads can be comedy gold.

I could sense saltiness to some degree, but not in a way I can relate to how I taste things now.

All the others come in adjective/noun pairs: sweet/sweetness, salty/saltiness, etc.

Yeah, I definitely sense some saltiness in the parent comment.

Other than saltiness, what's the rationale behind making a statement like that?
