raku

The Rakudo implementation of the Raku Programming Language uses the MoarVM, which is pretty much a generic VM.

Perl 6 was renamed Raku (?) so people wouldn’t be confused that the 5 line was continuing development.

It is meant as a small example showing how Rakudoc documentation can be embedded directly inside Raku source code.

I agree, and the raku line of code imposes a fairly large cognitive load.

Raku is mainly written in a custom subset “NQP” and the team is now cranking on RakuAST for 6.e which is rewriting the Raku parser as a Raku Grammar.

In some languages you end up with Perl/Raku or Python 2/3 "it's nearly a different language and the ecosystem is split for many years" outcomes, but Go is nowhere near that.

If you prefer "for" to "while" for whatever reason, here's a similar Python to the raku.

From one perspective, the XLibre folks seem to be taking the Perl5 path, and hoping Wayland is Raku.

Perl5 was re-anointed as the once-and-future Perl, and what had been Perl6 became Raku.

I did not imply anything about people who don't like Raku.
