The direct harm from pedophiles downloading that porn and viewing it is minimal.

This makes pedophiles less likely to seek professional help, and I can only imagine that this means that they are more likely to harm or abuse a child.

Legally there is absolutely no difference between busting pedophiles on Tor and busting "whistleblowers" talking to the press, legally speaking.

The fact that some children do actually get harmed and that many people have children themselves that they feel very protective of fuels the emotion of labeling all pedophiles as "evil".

Also, the word "pedophile" is oftentimes conflated with "child molester", which makes it impossible to distinguish the individuals who are pedophiles but have not (and have no intentions to) act on those desires.

I loathe this viewpoint, for at least 3 reasons: - "Keys Under Doormats": you keep the 0day secret to target pedophiles, but other people will be affected by it as well - It's using the usual cheap rethoric of figthing pedophilia to defend some business interests - You're either with us (the spotless knights), or against us...

Pedophiles will use it anyway, but legitimate users will not.
