This post brings to mind another written by Alex Payne a few years back about scaling in the large vs.

If he doesn't follow people like Steve Klabnik and Alex Payne on stuff like this, the personal and business consequences to him will be immense.

As Alex Payne (@al3x) helpfully explains [1], those calling for Yarvin's talk invitation to be rescinded didn't do so because of politics —oh, no—but because of hate.

But it doesn't mean anything more or less than always bet on Wesley kicking that pale-eyed, blond-haired villain's ass, because Wesley is a bad-ass and way more fit than Bruce Payne (who played the villain).

The consistent trend going all the way back to the Payne Fund Studies is that someone somewhere thinks they can show some alarmist correlation between media and behavior.

And when the writer reports Andreesen blowing off Payne as “a self-hating software engineer”, he didn't do that to make Andreesen look good or sound persuasive.

It can even be tuned in real time (cf Max Payne) but I don't think it is a great idea.

Names for mobile games had to be short and very descriptive, even if boring ("NY Shooter" instead of Max Payne or Halo), because there was no PR channels.
