ov-fiets

(Well, the OV-fiets is nearly universally revered, but people just love complaining about the trains.

In the Dutch bike-share system OV-fiets, a bike costs €3.65 per day, so that it similar.

I wouldn't mind if helmets were normalized but (as noted at wikipedia) that makes using OV-fiets, etc.

I'll just grab a bike (OV-fiets) at the train-station and cycle to where I have to be.

Especially the OV-fiets, which are bicycles that you can rent at train stations.

Last years on-demand ov-fiets (public transport bike) were created to solve that.

Still OV-chipkaart is useful as it allows you to take OV-fiets.

OV-fiets is 3.85 euro for 24h though, and no yearly fee.

The OV-fiets is a bike you get at a train station (maybe some metro stations too; not sure), and typically you'll use it to get from there to your destination and then back to the train station.

This already exists in the Netherlands, called the "OV-fiets" (public transport bicycle).

The designers can look at the design of the Public Transportation Bike ("OV-Fiets") in the Netherlands[1] which was a major success in a country where there already were more bikes than people before it's introduction.
