At Nitrous, we use Nitrous Pro to develop Nitrous Pro, and Nitrous Pro requires a pretty complex setup (minimum 10+ components required to run).

Co-founded Nitrous (but no longer part of it) so take my opinion for what it's worth.

Unlike C9.io or nitrous.io, you don't need to create a project, share an invite link, mess with permissions, etc.

The tweak nitrous allows chrome and other apps with in-app browsers the ability to do so, but it shouldn't have to be this way!

I'm hoping that services such as Nitrous and C9 are much more stable since they've been around a bit longer.

Do you have any plans for migrating current users to Nitrous Pro?

I think that interacting with your environment using Nitrous Pro is a really enjoyable experience.

Hi, I have been a long time Nitrous user (I use it with my Chromebook).

I hope I am not being rude, but could someone compare Cloud9 with nitrous.io?

C9.io / nitrous.io are online IDEs with collaborative functionality.

I now use lesser but public services like AppEngine, Heroku, nitrous.io (like Google's web based IDE Cider, a bit) but it is not the same.

I am a light user of pro nitrous.io (a few hours per week) and like always having Haskell, Clojure, my most recent project repos cloned, etc.

A lot of clients really prefer using Nitrous environments for their service providers because they feel as though they have more control over the developers they're hiring and their IP -- clearly there are still risks since there are fairly easy ways to pull code down but "owning" the machine that your contractors are working on is a step in the right direction for compliance and audit purposes.

Nitrous also provides file-sync tools which let you use your current editors with a cloud-based dev environment [1].

I've used Cloud9, Nitrous, and currently messing around with Codenvy, and a few others that were very lacking.

Unfortunately Nitrous.io does not work in China, neither does any other web based IDE that I know about.
