Anyway, it's just a little more work than a nespresso, cheaper and not as involved as serious coffee making.

So in the end, the Nespresso might even be cheaper for me, since the capsules last months without noticeably losing flavor.

It would have been nice to see this compared amongst a variety of machines, not just 1 nespresso machine and 1 manual drip.

That, and when compared to an authentic espresso, I find the nespresso to be bitter and watery.

Most, or some, Nespresso (and I guess the Keurig machine in the US?) had a little single-serve milk frother.

I think the penetration of Nespresso in the French market might also be related to the consistently bad quality of espresso in cafés.

I use Nespresso at work and a French press at home (because someone gave it to me) with "supermarket" grounded coffee.

I'd be tempted to try a Nespresso/Gillette model, where the initial product is cheap and the "refills" are relatively expensive subscriptions, but very high quality and easy to use.

Also, at least in Germany Nespresso's patent on capsules is expired and there are now many cheaper alternatives available.

So the most sensible thing to do is simply not use Nespresso, and avoid contributing to the aluminium problem.

In the US, at least, Nespresso's recycling program extract the aluminum and composts the grounds.
