That’s more compelling than something like Milvus that has to re-invent “the rest of the database.” And Milvus is also a second system that needs to be kept in sync with the source database.

If the benchmarks are to be believed, and assuming ~0.93 recall is "good enough" for the use case, this vector DB is seriously fast: about 5x the queries/sec of OpenSearch and 19x Milvus.

Milvus is an incredibly cool product and a staple in my daily stack.

Since the documents are well formatted, it is easy to do the overlapping chunking, then all those chunking data are inserted into vector db Milvus.

To run a simple document search, you usually need Docker, Pinecone/Milvus, an Embedding Model, and heavy dependencies like LangChain or Torch.
