In _The Dharma Bums_, Jack Kerouac actually describes one such time when he was in a fire lookout tower.

How do you go about to qualify Jack Kerouac and Murakami who takes as much influence from Jazz?

I don't even like it when Kerouac does Kerouac.

It might be a bit cliché but I read On the road by Jack Kerouac and it motivated me to do a big road trip alone across USA/Canada/Mexico.

Hi Tom, Thank you for your comment, it is an experiment as much as it is a change in writing style (not based on Kerouac but I understand the reference).

A few paragraphs down you mention Markdown and Jack Kerouac so I assume Ghost is related to text editing, but a sentence or two at the very top that explains Ghost would make this much better.

Rather it is more like Kerouac's "On the road", which is about being an observer of what is.

Kerouac's "On the Road" is another that I read often.

Kerouac, by the way, didn't get Buddhism - he mere confused himself with that popular Tibetan folklore, but he was intuitive practitioner.

Reminded me of Kerouac, with some good historical tidbits and photography dispersed throughout.

James Joyce, never accomplished anything, I guess Kerouac, Faulkner and Hemingway never did anything.
