The jury was further distracted when a quarrel between two jurors erupted this past week when a female juror accused a male juror of poisoning her lunch.

Every single article about the case makes sure to mention that it was a female juror against a male juror and some of the articles also point out that the accuser is asian while the accused is white.

Seems like an expedient way to avoid appeals on the basis that the wrong juror was excused.

Either they committed libel or not; it's not your job as a juror to be a parent.

At best, the juror would be dismissed and replaced as soon as their lie was revealed.

From my understanding this is catch-22 - you should follow law but juror can not be prosecuted for not following it.

Are you concerned that one of those 5% of disadvantaged people might be a descendant of a juror/judge/policeman who acted improperly?

The law states that anyone called up for jury duty must complete the juror questionnaire.

At worst, the juror would be held in contempt of court (or similar) and become another victim of that same corrupt justice system.

While I see how discussion can be prevented, but how actually juror can be stopped from nullifying the law?
