Don't touch those prices or you'll get a revolution:) Right: at the supermarket Illy is one of the most expensive brands.

Original Nespresso capsules are 5-6 euro per pack of 10; non-originals from Illy or Lavazza are even cheaper at about 40 cents per shot.

Italian here:) you're both right and wrong: Wrong: if you go in a bar and order an Illy espresso you'll pay more or less 1 euro.

In case Illy is not popular in your area.

It works best with Illy Moka ground coffee.

We go to work everyday in a beautiful mid-century modern building located in midtown Phoenix, Arizona, work on the latest generation of Mac Pro machines, and provide delicious illy espresso as creative fuel.

And then when I go on vacation in Italy and other European countries I see Illy mostly in vending machines, so when I see and Illy shop I'm not tempted, when there are 500 other more interesting looking shops every direction you look.

I like Illy (if you love it, you may want to go to Trieste and enjoy it there) but I still prefer to get it freshly grinded from somebody who toasts in place.

Right now I mostly use a Moka pot or french press, with Illy/Lavazza preground coffee.

I especially like one in Venice, where it goes from 12 to 25 per Kg, the good one costing as much as the Illy.
