For now they are well ahead but my own pick is that Huawei will become the giant to beat.

Nokia is also a telecommunication equipment designer and manufacturer (since long before cell phones even existed) similar to Ericsson, Huawei or Alcatel-Lucent.

There were also a couple of Huawei ones, but there were plenty of other ones I had never heard about.

Ericsson maybe, but Huawei is a juggernaut that leaves them in the dust (massive growth both in terms of revenue and innovation, especially in emerging markets).

Apple takes the high-end, image-conscious market segment, and huawei and xaomi take the low end, and there isn't a whole lot of room for a high-price low-prestige product.

Likely the device have a number of smaller partitions (A huawei phone i have handy have no less that 19 different ones) that for various reasons are not mounted.

I dunno about Apple, Unless Huawei or similar manages to grab the media attention in the same way but at a quarter of the price.

So basically now Nokia, Erisson, Huawei or ZTE ( Are there any others ) actually build and run the Network Backend of Mobile Network, while Mobile / Cell Operators does the sales, marketing and customer services?
