All I can gather from the article is some cloudy hosty database-as-a-service thing that might have made money but never shipped.

Apache2 is the default supported webserver, but we have Hosty in production using nginx over SSL as well.

Unfortunately some of it won't be released, particularly the note Oswald passed to Special Agent Hosty a few days before the assassination.

They certainly have developer mindshare in large companies, but github is the facebook of sourcecode repositories, it will always be more popular outside (or in smaller, less self-hosty orgs).

That is, there are many idiosyncrasies of the host language that leak into the DSL, error handling/reporting is hard and tends to obscure the code, and the eventual DSL tends to have a very hosty flavor.

It's not intended to be a public file hosting service, so do not try to add some public register form or something like that;-) Hosty can be used inside a LAN without Internet access; no external resources are being used.

It's published under MIT and deliberately doesn't add any promotional links or "Created by Hosty" footers.

Hosty was ordered by his superiors to destroy it, and promptly flushed it down the toilet.

I made it more obvious in the readme that you do not need build tools to run Hosty.
