My hopes for great new laptops lie with some brand new crowdfunding efforts, fantastic as it may sound.

You're not really being clear what about their crowdfunding position 'stinks' besides that crowdfunding is commonly used to fund scams (and even that I got through inference).

Most recent project has been architecting and leading a team of 12 developers to build a next generation SaaS crowdfunding platform with a front-end built in AngularJS.

You do understand that the whole crowdfunding thing quite literally sends all sorts of alarm bells rolling, especially since so many other project are doing the same.

We're also somewhat beyond the prototype phase, but only to the extent that we're soon shipping a version 1 product to crowdfunding backers.

That doesn't seem to be experiment.com yet, or indeed any of the organizations trying to crack the same nut of how you make crowdfunding work for research projects.

Please stop with all the promises and "crowdfunding" (which downright smells) and actually deliver something.

Also, even though we were called "crowdfunding for travelers", we were betting a lot on the sponsorship model - there are a lot of great companies willing to sponsor interesting trips.

As I've understood this whole crowdfunding thing the "starters" who are asking for money are under no obligation to actually provide functional products to the "backers".
