Glop is very nice, but it would be reasonable to expect a commercial solver (Gurobi, XPress, COpt) to be 60x faster [1].

If anyone is a descendant of the Ancient Egyptians, it’s the Coptic Christians, who still use a descendant of the Ancient Egyptian language as a liturgical language and mostly don’t have any Arabic ancestry (since the child of an Arab Muslim and a Copt would almost always be considered an Arab Muslim).

They have wiped all minorities from nearly all middle-east countries over the course of the last 70 years, so if a thoroughly murdered minority wants to run a defensively structured ethno-state- be they copt, greek christians, armenians, belotschis, druse, kurds, jesidi, zhorthastrian, hindu or whatever - just go for it.

However, being a Copt, I do find the monasteries to be one of the few preserved gems of Egypt, where you can see artwork from hundreds and hundreds of years ago still in its original form painted on huge rock walls.
