See also this previous HN thread about Pollen (written on top of Racket) by Matthew Butterick of Butterick's Practical Typography fame.

The fact that Matthew Butterick is, a lawyer, a typographer and a programmer just increase my respect for him.

You can also see some dotting/dashing in the link on the page to the Butterick book.

Perhaps Butterick has sparked an interest in some typographer who's never thought about the concept.

Everything looks the same, and Butterick points out why The goal is to cre­ate the il­lu­sion that every­thing on Medium be­longs to one ed­i­to­r­ial ecosys­tem, as if it’s the New York Times.

But even in proper context, I think Butterick is being a little silly here.

On the Medium discussion -- I find the site pretty good, actually, and disagree with the arguments Butterick raises against its minimalism.

On the other hand, I don't really know what it is Butterick aspires to.

I ended up buying the Butterick fonts a while back for a personal project, now I use Triplicate for basically all my coding/terminal needs.

Given that this is a coherent book and not a collection of random posts, this distinction is handy: while reading Butterick, I am more likely to click a link to more Butterick than to click an outbound link which will cause me to lose my train of thought.

You describe your templates in Racket also, because like Butterick says in his RacketCon video [2], "S-expressions and XML are the same thing".

I personally found "Butterick's Practical Typography" very compelling, and I happily paid for it (apparently well above the median selling price!).

The link he gives there isn't his own site, it's an online typography ebook by Matthew Butterick, a professional typographer.

Butterick, a well-respected typographer, recommends in Practical Typography not using underlines for stylistic emphasis.

Butterick's point here is that Medium takes away your choice on the web, where there's very frequently no separation between author and publisher.
