The Compose functionality is quite nice, but not when you do mailing lists, where bottom-posting works best.

If you're replying to an email you can quickly press Ctrl+a, Ctrl+end to go to the bottom, for all your bottom-posting needs.

The most important part of bottom-posting is ability to clearly respond to particular parts of the mail in a quote-response, quote-response manner.

Modern email clients use threading and quote-hiding to make everything look like bottom-posting.
