So it's bait disappointing that my ex is writing on twitter and hash tagging me as #mentalex ... When for 1 I had an eating disorder and 2 in our vows I'm pretty sure it said 'for sickness and health' or something along those lines, but the main reason for our breakup is not that we were both too childish for marriage and the responsibilities it bought but the fact on a trip home when he was at camp doing some sort of course I went to my local doctors crying because I knew I was ill and my eating habits were not normal, the doctor said to come home and stay with main family until I am better, however the ex couldn't accept the fact I needed more support than him, he hated not being in control of a situation and how could he of controlled my eating disorder something that I couldn't of controlled, he has also resulted in an argument which I still have on twitter DMs as 'you're the mental one I could have had you sectioned' .. Yes am eating disorder is mental health but my main reason for my control of food was my lack of control in my actual life as he had taken everything from me and tried to change everything, so if people wanna keep favouriting his tweets and believing his bullshit sob stories then so be it, why don't u google 'anorexia' then google 'controlling ex boyfriend' and see who the psychopaths tend to be!

And now for a jumble of words. My mum was in Maudsley many years ago fighting Anorexia and other mental health problems. There's footage of her conditions and time in the hospital but I've never seen it. I don't need to. Back then people like my mum were shut away and mental health wasn't spoken about. It's not much better today but we're getting there slowly. These days my mum is better with the help of strong medication and support from loved ones, but it's taken a while to get here. I have fond memories of my childhood but at times things were extremely tough. Although I wish things were easier for my family I wouldn't change this life experience for anything. It's probably one of the reasons I'm so outspoken. Maybe some of it isn't for Facebook but I don't have a problem with this. I'm open and sometimes I like to talk about difficult subjects with people. The people I choose to have in my life mean the world to me. In my 32 years I've seen and been through a lot like many others. I don't have a problem with talking about mental health and I'm not embarrassed about it anymore. My mum has the biggest heart and will always take anyone in to help them. Even now she spends her days caring for a lady near home. I love her dearly and I am so proud of her x
As you know I have Crohn's Disease and yesterday FB was busy with comments regarding the BBC and it's Crohn's coverage regarding experts investigating whether junk food and too many antibiotics could be behind the rise in some cases. In some cases this may be so but for the majority of Crohn's sufferers lived a healthy lifestyle and had a healthy diet before they came down with Crohn's. Mine is probably genetic as I have a family history. The increase in admissions may also be down to an increase in awareness and understanding for the disease over the last 10 years. My doctors kept telling me it was IBS even though we had a family history and on the forums other people were diagnosed with Anorexia, Bulimia and other conditions before they were finally diagnosed. At the moment there is no cure and the disease is controlled by drugs, operations and maintaining a diet where they have eliminated foods that cause them to flare up. I try and make sure that I eat foods that are known for their anti-inflammatory properties to keep the inflammation at bay. I am one of the lucky ones x We all had different diets, lifestyles and how we have reacted to the drugs, operations and diet. We are unique but we share something in common. #wehatecrohns x
Looking back- Anon. I remember the cheese of my childhood, And the bread that we cut with a knife, When the children helped with the housework, And the men went to work not the wife. The cheese never needed a fridge, And the bread was so crusty and hot, The children were seldom unhappy And the wife was content with her lot. I remember the milk from the bottle, With the yummy cream on the top, Our dinner came hot from the oven, And not from the fridge; in the shop. The kids were a lot more contented, They didn't need money for kicks, Just a game with their mates in the road, And sometimes the Saturday flicks. I remember the shop on the corner, Where a pen'orth of sweets was sold Do you think I'm a bit too nostalgic? Or is it....I'm just getting old? I remember the 'loo' was the lav, And the bogy man came in the night, It wasn't the least bit funny Going "out back" with no light. The interesting items we perused, From the newspapers cut into squares, And hung on a peg in the loo, It took little to keep us amused. The clothes were boiled in the copper, With plenty of rich foamy suds But the ironing seemed never ending As Mum pressed everyone's 'duds'. I remember the slap on my backside, And the taste of soap if I swore Anorexia and diets weren't heard of And we hadn't much choice what we wore. Do you think that bruised our ego? Or our initiative was destroyed? We ate what was put on the table And I think life was better enjoyed.
