From an Irish perspective, this is actually quite clever politics from the Leo Varadkar, the Irish Taoiseach (Prime Minister).

You vote out your representative in there by voting out your your head of government (president, premier, taoiseach etc.), because again, it's literally the same person.

You mean similarly to how the president acts under recommendation from the Taoiseach?

Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said that the increase is in response to a new UK policy being introduced which threatens to deport new arrivals into the UK to Rwanda in central Africa.

The same being true with respect to Taoiseach.
