The Cuckoo's Egg: Tracking a Spy Through the Maze of Computer Espionage by Clifford Stoll is a fun read.

I went to a talk from Stoll years ago where he basically danced on tables, his enthusiasm is contagious.

It makes me sad, and is probably a failure of HN, that people like Stoll only have 7 karma and don't post here.

I hear there's an alternate title it's being published under now though, so look for the author, Cliff Stoll.

Stoll joked in self-deprication that his criticism was coming from a guy who owned five computers and no car -- so, he wasn't anti-technology.
