Surely it would be better to use something based on ChaCha20, Keccak or Spritz if you have the choice?

Just a shame it doesn't employ spritz technology and support for ePubs etc.

So you made something similar to Spritz only not as good?

I remember looking for this when spritz first came out and thinking - oh great I have to wait for all of these different platforms to integrate the spritz API to use it.

Cameron does give credits to Spritz on his page.

That's why I wouldn't use Spritz for reading books.

I used to like to go salsa dancing with my wife, but the baby is a bit of a hindrance to going out:-/ I also love to go out for drinks (spritz!) in the piazzas here - I would miss that a great deal if I ever went back to the US.

You'll notice that in the site's Acknowledgements section, the first to be credited is "Spritz Inc, the company whose patents are pending" [1].

This overall design pattern may have made some sense when RC4 was designed, for an 8-bit CPU with no cache, but not so much now - they acknowledge this in the paper and in fact suggest "other word-oriented architectures may be a better choice than the byte-oriented RC4/Spritz style".

But if you are not necessarily opposed to all software patents, but only the ones that try to patent something trivial, or try to add the words "on a computer" to an established real-world practice, then the question arises: Is Spritz's method, which positions words according to an algorithm that is meant to reduce saccades, trivial?

Whatever technique is used may well not be applicable to ciphers of a more modern design (but what about Spritz?).

I'm building a Spritz-like application but I don't live in the US so the patent doesn't apply.

Spritz seems to use longer pauses for commas, which seems helpful.
