I think the blog title is a bit sensational here.

I hate articles like these: a sensational headline with a lack of technical depth.

Nice anecdote, but that's a rather uber-sensational title - not in a good way.

Why are we as a community are becoming more and more obsessed with sensational link-baits?

"To not milk what is the most sensational story of the year is against the very link-baity nature of these companies.

You can do less sensational things like invent a device that improves patients' lives using modern robotics and sensors.

The headline here is totally sensational and factually incorrect.

As I said above:I like that in geek culture we don't have this weird demand for people to be 24/7 ensconced in a professional PR-oriented persona, like a CEO or politician...If people are pulling things out of a personal blog and broadcasting it across the web in sensational terms, I blame the yellow journalists more than him.

If someone publishes sensational and link baity findings they should say, unequivocally, "I'm willing to stake my reputation on the idea this trend is real and will continue" or "These are just data and I'm not willing to say that they have any bearing on reality".Facebook may not have been right to dignify the initial post with a response, but I hope it works for the best.
