That's what I love about open source too, when I look at the work and productivity of John Resig or Yehuda Katz for example, I feel inadequate but it's also tremendously motivating....

Considering the importance of the internet in global daily life, and the fact that now jQuery is used on 1/5th of the world's websites, it seems Resig has had enough influence on the world to deserve metion too.

John Resig's response to the situation (in which he condemns the entire comp.lang.javascript usenet group) seems an extreme (but perhaps appropriate) response to this -- he's sending a very strong message to those who contribute to jQuery: "no more feeding David Mark".

He has apparently strong objections to something in jQuery's design and is taking it to John Resig.

I'm not interested in the flood of people trying to become the next John Resig.
