A recent surprise was that radicchio, a favorite, is a chicory, also (but less) distant from others.

What kind of insane metric is mg/kcal when comparing foods like radicchio vs.

Not sure if you meant just lettuce, but in California a typical salad has little to no lettuce, and instead: mizuna, arugula, radicchio.

Later I found out that arugala, endive, radicchio, are all great when properly dressed with a good salad oil, but they definitely have wayyyyy more flavor.

If it tastes like gritty pancake batter, it can't be any worse than a diet of brussels sprouts, turnips, rutabagas, radicchio, eggplant, etc.

If you were to make a salad of, say, arugula, endive, radicchio, and various leafy herbs like basil and oregano, you'd have quite the taste sensation.

I've had a waiter bring my celiac wife the same salad back after obviously simply picking out the explicitly declined croutons (evident by the particularly hideous looking radicchio in that particular salad) instead of making a new salad as required.

I still eat sweets every once in awhile and even binge a bit occasionally but it just reminds me that I really do like my kale and radicchio with mustard, sweet and spicy peppers, along with a little vinegar way more than sour peachy-os.

Like anything that becomes a fad though there are people who will dismiss the idea of an intolerance - I once watched a waitress bring back a salad she'd obviously simply removed the croutons from after being asked, again, for a crouton-free salad (a particularly ugly piece of radicchio gave it away).

Another one is "sourdough" - "Caesar Salad with Sourdough Croutons" is the top suggestion, followed by "Hard-Boiled Eggs and Parmesan on Toasted Sourdough" and "Radicchio Salad with Sourdough Dressing".

Radicchio looks to have the highest content of Luteolin.

Radicchio is only crispy in the center part.
