Our school in Oviedo (co-operative run school) has a no phones policy and it's great.

In Spain I lived in Granada, Oviedo and Gijón(north), Madrid(center) and Alicante, all of them near big mountains.

(Ironically, there are many anti-vax people in the Bay Area!) I don't know about Oviedo specifically (maybe it's a liberal haven in the middle of a conservative sea, like Austin TX), but I've known several Floridans from the more conservative parts of the state, and they were either naive and gullible as hell, or actually close-minded.

Oviedo is a decent area -- good air quality, close to nature but at the same time close to urban areas.

Pontevedra, Oviedo) have banned all cars from most major streets since the mid 1990s.

I would like to see this in my city center (Oviedo, Spain) but for another reason.
