I think the lesson here is to find a balance between the overreaction that is Sarbanes-Oxley and the criminal frauds that were Enron/Arthur-Anderdon, WorldCom, etc.

Sure, it's an overreaction but if an individual did it as a prank you can bet some prosecutor would try to make a name for themselves by throwing the book at them.

The reason it's down is probably because there was no surprise and the numbers came a bit shy of what the estimates were but regardless, I view it as an overreaction.

When someone's actions extend to endangering the public to the degree we see here (which I think is obvious once you've watched the video), they are past any good will I would have extended them in not contacting the police for fear of an overreaction.

Maybe, but "go away, I hate white people" seems a slight overreaction.
