On those issues the position of the FSF is very much 'illegal till proven otherwise' (that's if you actually succeed in getting Eben Moglen to give a straight answer).

However it seems Eben Moglen had knowledge of what was going on, and since Moglen is the right hand of Stallman, it is hard to credit Stallman not knowing the existence of the dispute.

I would only trust GPL-cowriter Eben Moglen himself more than bkuhn on GPL legalities.

Bruce Schneier and Eben Moglen have made this point quite well, particularly in their December, 2013 Columbia Law School talk, and Schneier's April, 2014, Stanford Law School lecture.

And if there's a single thing which would most likely destroy Google at this point, even above NSA and other snooping (which they could significantly engineer around, though by changing their entire present focus, see Bruce Schneier and Eben Moglen on this in the past year, particularly their joint Columbia University conversation and Schneier's Stanford Law School lecture), it's the snooper state.

I should not need to remind this crowd but if anyone feels doubt over what can and must be done, simply search YouTube for "Eben Moglen"; you can't go wrong.

"Secure against bulk surveillance" is a big push in a lot of areas, it's a button Bruce Schneier and Eben Moglen have been pushing hard for the past year or so.

I recently had a chat with Eben Moglen and rms that suggested that requiring such modules to state in some code-enforced way "I am GPLed" could legally be enough (unlike Eben, I am not a lawyer, and my understanding of what Eben told me could be incorrect).

Breaking the model under which they operate is the only real way to ensure that Maciej Cegłowski's "The Internet With a Human Face" is one of the best examinations of what's wrong, and how to fix it, I've read (though Bruce Schneier and Eben Moglen also do a good job).

When it comes to well formulated talks about free software, none seems to beat those from Stallman's lawyer, Eben Moglen.

Happen to have any more info for finding this talk from Moglen?

How this isn't worse than Tivo-ization (the reason the GPLv3 was written!), now how RMS/Moglen aren't screaming about this, I'll never know.
