Like Bitcoin, the network is comprised of a bunch of 'miners' that provide the resources for running the code.

It doesn't mean the miners get less overall so much as it mean everyone gets less but effectively only one time.

Which just means they always sit at 40 - 49% share in the market, and never 50%, because miners know better.

There are oilmen and coal miners and gold miners in the world, and Silicon Valley's leadership is comprised almost entirely of people miners who turn young male quixotry into gold.

(probably many more have joined without mining, but that number cannot be determined from this dashboard) The "difficulty" right now is relatively plateaued, which suggests blocks are traveling efficiently on the network and miners are successfully connecting to the network and not fluctuating too much in number.

Miners don't mine because of any arbitrary value in a product.
