Your chest constrict comment reminded me of this quote from Messner on the first solo ascent of Everest.

Lawrence or John Muir, or to the top of something death-defying, like Reinhold Messner or Philippe Petit.

The Messner plan started in 1974 and France was other 55% of electricity production provided by Nuclear in 1985.

Basically all succesfull Himalayan expeditions, before Messner started to go full solo, relied on Sherpas or other local groups.

But Messner did it all 40 years ago, leading the climbs himself, without oxygen, and often on new routes/first ascents.

With that and them presenting ferromagnetism as the Messner effect makes me kind of question the competence of the entire analysis.
