I think you might get something out of reading 'Happiness' by Matthieu Ricard.

That's one way to interpret it, another way is to assume matthieu is indicating to us that these vendor locked distributions are shit, not necessarily one shittier than the other.

But then again I've read Matthieu Ricard's book and find his writing to be less than compelling, very subjective and generalizing ideas that have easy to find exceptions.
