Of course, they must also conduct an investigation of the breach, which for most companies involves hiring a contractor like Mandiant or Fidelis to determine how it happened, exactly what was taken, what the purpose was, etc.

Every major power has had at least one widespread computer espionage campaign discovered by Kaspersky, Symantec, Mandiant/FireEye, etc.

Mandiant is supporting a critical customer mission to design, deliver, and operate a national network defense capability.

And of course, the company that Sony hired to investigate and clean up the breach, FireEye/Mandiant, believe it was North Korea.
