All lithium-ion batteries have a nominal voltage of 3.7V, like how all alkaline batteries have a nominal voltage of 1.5V.

If Tesla wasn't producing cars and somehow found itself wanting to build batteries for homes, still, it may not have gone lithium-ion.

Instead of a standard fuse that just melts past a certain amperage, which means you aren’t exactly sure when it will or won’t melt or if it will arc when it does, we developed a fuse with its own electronics and a tiny lithium-ion battery.

Really, though, what seems more interesting to me are the nanostructured silicon-anode lithium-ion batteries, which have been demonstrated multiple times now, have capacities several times those of lithium, and are rechargeable [4] [5] [6].
