I think it's a shame that 'vegetarian' has come to mean 'lacto-ovo vegetarian' in the vernacular.

My anecdotal experience as a lifelong (since birth) lacto-ovo vegetarian leads me to think there's something to this.

They're real and this lacto-ovo progressive is not the only one bringing them up.

It's also difficult for anything lacto-ovo vegetarian to get all they need without relying on imports way away from their home country.

Though, you can see right there on the graph, that comparison relies on lacto-ovo vegetarians eating a heck of a lot of dairy.

Case study of one, but I've been a (lacto-ovo) vegetarian for roughly eight years now.

I'm still primarily a lacto-ovo vegetarian, I still enjoy many vegetarian meals, and now I've added fish and chicken to the mix.

I’d disagree that vegetarian has “come to mean” lacto-ovo, unless you’re talking about a time before the late 80s, or a different scene than the uk.

At this point wouldn't be better to drop the "lacto-ovo-chicken-vegetarian" label?

Lacto-ovo vegetarians have significantly extended life spans compared to people eating normal diets, vegans, and even regular vegetarians.

Lacto-ovo vegetarians are a class of omnivore, too, and I have a really hard time believing anything within an order of magnitude of 5% of humans are strict vegetarians.
