The kookaburras here have a reputation for taking snags right off a burning BBQ without apparently hurting themselves.

Butcher birds look far more like kookaburras and kingfishers in some ways.

Try telling people that Kookaburras are an introduced species gone feral and responsible for killing off large numbers of unique native birds, reptiles and insects.

But it may be totally correct for a website about kookaburras.

Magpies and Kookaburras also use branches to kill what they catch.

I would pay for a version that had an Australian bush option with occasional kookaburras and bell birds, maybe lyre birds and wattle birds too.

Nonetheless, I was woken up by the laughing kookaburras this morning.

In Sydney you get cockatoos, galahs, magpies, rainbow lorikeets, ibis, crested pigeons, kookaburras, noisy miners among other stuff that I can't name.

One could as well say "whatever you think of how loud kookaburras laugh..."

There's a similar unforced error in referring to a "group" of kookaburras rather than a "flock".
