The automatic, per-line indentation type detection, combined with automatic space insertion and automatic navigation over spaces when using cursor keys makes tabs and spaces indistinguishable unless you either turn these features off or render invisibles.

I always have invisibles shown in my editor now after running into to many issues with single spaces in the wrong place, or copying code that mixes spaces and tabs, when the language doesn’t allow it.

So rather than enforce a tab/space/indentation level style guide: I said I didn't care what they preferred, so long as they turned on invisibles and made sure their code is self-consistent by manually selecting an indentation style/level.

I use ctrl-c because i'm not hardcore enough:D I've also configured vim to draw invisibles as different characters (spaces, tabs, LF), so it makes even less sense to try use the terminal's selection to copy.

But somewhere along the way, editors added features that let you see invisibles, and let you set up smart tabs so that you could hit tab, but it would interpolate 4 spaces (or whatever you set) into the document, and let you shift+tab back the indention or TAB the indention, but put in spaces.

If they can do that, then they probably have tech to be "invisibles" as well.

They're not visible, unless you turn on the "show invisibles" equivalent in your editor, and even with that enabled, it can be difficult to see them while scanning a document.

I'm seeing those "invisibles" in Chrome/Win7, too.

They have groups like the Invisibles, the Cosmic Club and all these other fake elite scientist groups where they network.

I feel like this all happened just out of frame in a flashback sequence in The Invisibles.

As for Amigos Invisibles, I'm not a huge fan but I like some of their music.
