well-received

My understanding is that this is a well-received value-add for their platform.

There's a wide gulf between a joke that's distasteful or generally offensive and one that simply isn't well-received by 100% of its potential audience.

If Windows 10 is as well-received as I expect it will, this might really impact Microsoft's position on phones as well.

So I knew pretty well that if I offered a perspective that the article isn't representative of everything happening there, there's a good chance it wouldn't be well-received.

If you're a popular figure and your natural inclination in writing is in a direction which would be generally well-received on HN, you can get lots of karma whether or not you have much understanding of the community.

I didn't agree with the tone of the article, but "Something happened" is a poor error message, and I feel bad for the devs who put so much work into an otherwise well-received launch to be stymied by their own coworker's uninformative error dialogues!

My best guess is that she fought too hard to monetize by bringing a level of "mainstream" quality and standards to the site which would allow reddit to sell more and better ads (big complaint for advertisers: I don't want my products next to weird subs, etc.), which clearly was not well-received by the community BUT which the board may have encouraged, at least partially.
