If you've seen the Bill Murray movie Groundhog Day, you'll know what I mean when I say that sometimes that's exactly what I want.

To truly appreciate rewatching they should've watched The Groundhog Day every week for a year.

In Groundhog Day it seems like a constructed thing and the main plot that the protagonist lives one day again and again.

Unfortunately people never learn and it feels like groundhog day, the movie.

Maybe because Groundhog Day is just totally crazy and Her...

Spoiler: because every day can be Groundhog Day.

Looking into the docs Groundhog does not support joins (same deal with Persistent), which I'd say is a deal breaker for most (non-trivial) applications.

I've watched Groundhog Day probably 100 times.

If I rewind and refresh from a backup, then no one notices they’ve gone back Groundhog day style, except if observer memories are stored separately to the main Universe state, then someone’s information can persist between refreshes (as happens in Groundhog day and Edge of Tomorrow).

The tragedy is that we do not learn from prior mistakes - I was in school and into programming in the nineties and in 20 years things changed, but not that much - people are still debating basically Basic vs Pascal vs C and sometimes it feels like freaking groundhog day, the movie.

Throw in some oddball questions, and keep a really broad scope so you can learn which of your new teammates is really into Bill Murray and knows what language he learned, what instrument he learned to play and what art form he practiced in Groundhog Day, or what is the common name for Amorphophallus titanum, the Sumatran flower that is the largest flower in the world and arguably the smelliest.

You don't need a big chart and buzzwords ("hedgehog/groundhog/brown fox/red fox"), you need institutional reform and de-politicization.

But I guess the "groundhog day" nature of HN resetting every discussion to zero every day encourages such comments.

I still think we disagree a little on [2], but I love your "Groundhog Day" metaphor.

It's like writing Little Red Riding Hood with a "big bad groundhog."

I'd like to see what his take would be on a Groundhog's Day scenario.
