Do you think there will be a strike lead by a John Gault type person?

The Gault Millau became the Michelin rival but few other guides or competitors really existed.

I keep fearing this guy is going to pull a John Gault on us.

Also worth mentioning that while most known for his short stories, Trevor's novels (including The Story of Lucy Gault and The Children of Dynmouth) are also fantastic.

The professor also leads a dig in Texas, the Gault site, I think where they have similar preClovis dates for that initial occupation.

You'd find small tiny mum and pop eateries in Gault et Millau but they wouldn't be in the Michelin Guide or if they are, they'd only get a bib gourmet.

I tend to prefer the Gault et Millau (at least in France), they have more focus on food and will give good ratings to restaurants with great food but bad service.

And it's true that the end-to-end experience matters at restaurants, be they fine dining 3 thousand Gault Milleu stars or a worldwide franchise with so perverse incentives built in that it should be 18+ anyway (and not just because of the hyper-palatable sauces).

The description seemed to be trying to say, without saying, he's an Ayn Rand disciple, meaning he drunk the Kool-Aid to believe he's a John Gault or an Roark and we're just the peons preventing him from greatness and his destiny.

Ok, did anyone else notice the reference to "John Gault"?

In France, cuisine critics Gault et Millau attacked the fat, slow cooked, sauce heavy French cuisine for the same reason, opening the way for the new French cuisine "chefs".

I followed "Laissez Faire City" which was trying to do something like this (a "Gault's Gulch") in the 90s and 00s in Costa Rica and Nicaragua but I don't think got too far.
