Not to be confused with Facebook Connect, Garmin Connect, Adobe Connect, TI Connect and hundreds of others either.

The watch definitely interests me - smart notifications on the Garmin 920XT have convinced me of the utility.

The GPS most of them use is almost as old, a $20 Garmin handheld could navigate circles around it.

Take my Garmin GPS for example, it's got a resistive screen that, coming from a daily iPhone user, just doesn't work.

Anyone who has ever tried to enter an address into a Garmin GPS knows what I'm talking about.

For now, I'd say a Garmin device or an AliveCor are the best bet for non-iPhone users.

Wearables like Fitbits make this trivial (as do API hooks into services provided by Garmin/Polar/Suunto/etc).

Garmin's software totally sucks and it can't do HR tracking in the water.
