There are some retired gals, some younger mostly guys but very few female vehicle dwellers generally.

Not biologists, not psychologists; just guys and gals working with ever more elaborate Turing Machines.

This is a very efficient way of picking out even the young guys & gals who will end up being good engineers.

While I personally am a little less casual with language and would avoid saying something like guys or gals or peops.

That being said when dealing with real hard bad guys and gals its often the ugly parts of military that are used to meet the treat.

And people had started building something called Programmable Array Logic (PALs) which was trademarked by AMD so folks also called them Gate Array Logic or GALs.

I think that's at the root of what has torn a lot of these guys (and gals) up, is that's not how it was seen 40-50 years ago.

Gals has fallen out of common use, but it's probably the most appropriate word if women are taking offense to "girls."

By contrast, nobody uses the word "gals" - it sounds incredibly awkward and lame.

But if you address a group of girls as "girls", or even "gals", you are walking a fine line.

I've been told several times in my life to stop using "gals" when referring to a female group because they disliked the word.
