Really?I'm not sure where the debate would lie; falsetto is a clearly identifiable physical voice register that, without deliberate training, sounds quite different from the usual 'modal' voice.

Certain musical sounds / conventions / lyrics tend to be rooted in their era, like Beach Boys 'ba- ba ba ba ba-', falsetto harmonies, instruments & production method, etc. Altogether they're pretty distracting make it harder to enjoy the many good parts.
