The old quote from Emil Faber, 'Knowledge is good', is certainly not a scientific conclusion, or a testable hypothesis.

So I was just joking about the type of tagline I could see Emil coming up with for you.

Has a significant burden of proof after all of the PR debacles they've been through ranging from Hurricane Sandy, to Emil Michael, etc.

Very sadly, I found out that one of the authors, Emil Stefanov, died last year at the age of 26.

Imagine my surprise when I saw him as Emil Vautrain in the Mission: Impossible TV series.

I was a close friend of Emil for a long time.

I just thought it was funny the way Emil was marketing himself - in a vague and half-hearted way, without any supporting statements or evidence whatsoever.

(It always strikes me as a bit ironic when marketing guys market themselves poorly, yet they expect you to believe they can market your product/service professionally.) Emil could be a great marketer, but he left himself open to a bit of ribbing with his post.

The problem, simply stated by Emil Persson is "Premature optimizations can be troublesome to revert, but premature generalizations are often near impossible." Or, less delicately phrased by Chris Eric -- "Premature optimization, that's like a fart.
