DinnerBone, one of the original Minecraft creators, started contributing to this project a lot recently.

They hired Dinnerbone and grum, two guys from Bukkit (a server plugin API).

I disagree with this and what Dinnerbone says about locks.

Besides the mentioned licensing-issues, Dinnerbone (the guy hired by Mojang, who used to work on Bukkit) – as well as others involved – has said that they like the opportunity to start fresh.

I'm pretty sure Dinnerbone was around 18?

Even before Notch left I'd say others like Jeb or Dinnerbone were more commonly known in the Minecraft communities as they were more active in the community & posting about upcoming things.

Dinnerbone (aka Nathan Adams, the most community orientated Dev on mojangs Minecraft team) recently tweeted "Just a reminder: there is no official way to mod Minecraft & we still do not officially support mods.

I was incredibly humbled, and grateful (there are tears in my eyes as I write this), when he listed me along side the 4 who were acquired by Mojang - "Thanks to @Dinnerbone, @Grum, @Tahg, @Cogito, @EvilSeph for kicking off such an amazing project that’s been a big part of my life" Minecraft is almost no part of my life today, but I can say for sure I wouldn't be where I am without these people and the Bukkit project.

Oh, and a Mojang employee (Dinnerbone) has stated he will be updating it to support 1.8.

The four main team members at that point were EvilSeph, Dinnerbone, Grum and Tahg.

Dinnerbone has also commented on reddit threads saying they support the project, but they don't think there's anything else mojang can do to help.
