At the very least there will be cuddling. But that has nothing to do with being just friends or not.

A prime example is cuddling your baby to sleep. This may get them off to sleep more easily in the start, but they will quickly become unable to sleep without you.

But once I had a partner, I found myself missing us sleeping together at night, and the long night hours being productive a little lonely compared to cuddling in bed. So I gave it up.

At the very least there will be cuddling. I've been in this situation without anything physical happening.

Because where cuddling is optional on a double bed, it pretty much is the only way to share a single bed. Also interesting to consider is that it won't fit all types of beds.

Last night, I was under a blanket on the couch, reading two full Sherlock Holmes[1] stories to my wife and children, who were just drawing or cuddling on the couch or whatever. We just kicked back and relaxed, and we all enjoyed it.

I'm not saying HN should be a place of ruthless criticism and shnarky comments but I'm also not in the camp that thinks it should all be cuddling and cooing either.

Seems like it solves the cuddling problems but creates a whole new how-to-have-sex problem, I can imagine a bunch of positions would be made rather awkward by this mattress.

Another possibility is we define "something physical" differently - I think of [light] cuddling as something physical, from what I've heard a lot of people don't.

Perhaps they detest building snowmen, cuddling up in bed when it's cold, drying off in front of an open fire after walking through the rain, that awesome thunderstorm with cool rain after a boiling hot day, the neighbourly camaraderie assessing the damage after a storm etc etc I've never understood people who don't like the variety of weather and seasons. It must be so so boring to not experience, or enjoy weather.

The idea is to have one de-facto reference OAuth implementation for python instead of a few confusingly different choices, because the differences are really hard to spot for anybody who hasn't spent some time cuddling up with the RFC. Doing OAuth signing logic correctly is pretty finicky. Requests is great, and we provide a shim layer for it, but it's silly to reimplement the underlying request signing logic for requests, urllib3 or what-have-you.
