Taking that (free) class on coursera was an eye opener on all the things that are discussed in this article.

Learning new programs like Sketch, or taking classes on Udemy and Coursera makes no sense to me if you don't apply it.

If it's a replacement for that Coursera ML class in Python, then I don't think there really is one.

You might find Andrew Ng's Stanford Coursera course a good place to start.

I am taking the Data Science track at Coursera (on Practical Machine Learning now) and I am kicking myself that I didn't start with ISL instead.

I strongly suggest looking at udacity's nanodegrees or coursera's certificates.

I did a great course earlier this year on Coursera called "Learning How To Learn" It's pretty short but covers some good strategies for learning that are backed up by current Neurobiology research.

Coursera Machine Learning is one of the best places to start, but there are countless resources.

Udacity, Khan Academy, Coursera, and W3Schools.com offer a great start (some are free) for programming.

If you're really interested in the topic, Jeff Ulman (who with Alfred Aho wrote the book on automata) teaches a course on automata via Coursera.
