To be fair, the term "functional reactive" was invented by Conal Elliott and Paul Hudak back in '97 [0] and has merely been co-opted recently by the "reactive" buzz.

Conal Elliot and Edward Kmett no doubt have plenty of good examples, or could tell you who does.

Conal Elliott is one of the earliest designers, implementers, and explorers of the space of Functional Reactive Programming.

Conal isn't much convinced that monadic IO was the best solution to the IO problem.
