I'd agree, closed-source nvidia drivers for linux are better than closed-source AMD drivers.

Or you can pay for a commercial license that lets you build closed-source apps using the library.

Github analyzes open-source and closed-source code (under licensing agreements) to produce new software automatically on demand.

And being real honest here, if closed-source companies want to rip off ideas from open source, they go right ahead and do it.

But I don't see how using closed-source application would solve this issue.

It's closed-source and GUI, but you can control it from the command line, and we're working on an Apache 2.0 API for building the differ plugins.

In fact in this situation you would be better off with Wesnoth as GPL rather than MIT, because that way your closed-source competitors can't use your component in their games.

Especially since we're talking about a closed-source OS.

I've had nvidia cards in the past, as well as UT2004 which had a native linux version, and it worked well enough, but performance was still less than half what it was in windows (with the closed-source nvidia driver in linux).

Whether or not society would be better off without copyrighted software is left to the opinions of the reader - but I think it's absolutely undeniable that open source development would gain an immense competitive advantage compared to an infinitesimal gain by closed-source development.

The language was Ruby, not a random, closed-source, "4 kidz" programming language.

The more "dangerous" WiFi modules are probably not router chips, since they are usually based on closed-source drivers/firmware, but rather ones like the ath9k ones.
